Anita R Mcclellan

Anita R McClellan, 76, of Scottsburg IN, passed away Saturday, March 13 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 26 1944 in Scottsburg IN to Alex Cox & Ruby Bowling Cox who preceded her in death. She was a a Scottsburg High School graduate, Class of l963; an active member of First Baptist Church in Scottsburg serving as the coordinator of meals for the church; she was previously employed 20 years as a customer associate with JayC Foods in Scottsburg; and loved being a homemaker. Anita was married to Gary L McClellan on May 22 1965 in Scottsburg. Survivors: her husband Gary, of 56 years; sons Michael McClellan & wife Julie, Patrick McClellan & wife Shannon; Gregory McClellan & wife Andrea; grandchildren Logan McClellan, Brianna McClellan, Emily Griffith, Trent McClellan, Isaac McClellan, William McClellan, Garrett McClellan, Emma McClellan; great grandchildren Grayson McClellan & Eli Griffith. Siblings: Dora Pirtle, Agnes Reedy, T.C. Cox, Ralph (Judy) Cox, Faye Amick, Keith (Mary) Cox, sister-in-law Lynne Cox. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother Howard Cox; sister-in-law  Joyce Cox.

 Anita’s life was her big family. She loved fixing large meals for them and for her church’s meal needs. Taking short or long vacations was always an event she enjoyed so much.

She was truly a gem.  A blessing to those that knew her well.

Funeral Service: 1pm, Friday, March 19 2021, at First Baptist Church in Scottsburg IN.

Visitation: 4pm-8pm, Thursday and 11am-1pm Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Scottsburg Cemetery.
