Chris Wheeler Owen

Chris Wheeler Owen, age 71, was born in Libertyville, Illinois, raised in Tarrytown, NY and Palos Verdes, CA and was a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born on May 21, 1952 to the late Richard Owen and the late Bette (Wheeler) Owen. 

She was a Methodist by faith. Chris was a loyal friend, a people person and made friends very easily. Serving as a chemical dependency counselor, Chris had a deep empathy and compassion for people and would help anyone that she could. She was a relentless fighter for the little guy and would fight a bear to defend children and was protective by nature. She was thoughtful, generous, kind, full of life and fun. Chris had impeccable taste with style and fashion. She enjoyed horseback riding, travelling, writing about and collecting mid century decor. 

She is survived by her son, Alex Kotonias and his wife Serena of Seattle, Washington and daughter, Kim Silva and her husband Ian of Bakersfield, California. One sister, Lizanne Owen of Long Beach, California and three grandchildren, Liam Silva, Emily Silva and Amelia Kotonias. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Andrea Owen.

IN keeping with her wishes, the family has chosen cremation, family celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
