Doris J Spoonamore

Doris J. Spoonamore, age 73 of Freetown, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Schneck Medical Center. Born August 28, 1942, she was the daughter of Robert and Martha (Ratliff) Emberton. On February 26, 1960 in Edinburgh, Indiana, she married Philip Spoonamore.

She was an active member of the Freetown Nazarene Church where she had served as a board member, a steward and had taught Sunday school. She enjoyed singing, cooking, planting flowers and reading her bible. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids.

Doris is survived by her husband of 56 years, Philip; four daughters, Cathie (Don) Miller of Freetown, Karen (Allen) Maze of Westport, Lori (Tom) Watson of Kennesaw, GA and Julie (Cleatus) Hutchinson of Freetown; siblings, Janice (Jim) Gentry of Florida, Barbara (Dan) White of Bloomington, Vickie Poynter of Florida, Curtis (Julia) Emberton of Spearsville and David (Melony) Emberton of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Aaron Miller, Amber McClintock, Travis Woods, Ryan Vierling, Joanne Watson, Justin Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Caedon McClintock, Zoey Watson and Vivian Ellis-Hutchinson. Doris also had several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Freetown Nazarene Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Woodlawn-Freetown Funeral Chapel and from 10:00 am on Thursday until service time at the church. Burial will follow services at the Freetown Cemetery. Memorials can be made through the funeral home for the Freetown Nazarene Church.
