Doris Vierling

July 30, 1926 — March 21, 2020

Doris (Cutrer) Vierling, 93, of Seymour passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Lutheran Community Home. Born July 30, 1926 in Livingston, Louisiana she was the daughter of Dotson Sr. and Pearl (Story) Cutrer.
Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church on Community Drive, where she always helped when needed by cooking or helping in the nursery. Doris enjoyed vacationing with her family in Louisiana, gardening, bird watching and cooking. She especially enjoyed cooking wild game, seafood gumbo and family fish fry’s. Along with her love for humor and her love for the people around her, she will always be remembered for her sassy, feisty and caring personality.
She is survived by her daughters; Patty Smith (Don) of Columbus, Rhonda Turner of Seymour and Rita Cole (Joe) of Seymour; her sons, Donnie Vierling Jr. of Seymour, Mike Vierling (Cheryl) of Seymour, Kenneth Vierling (Mary) of North Vernon and Bobby Vierling (Vivian) of Seymour; Seventeen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband of 51 years, Donald Vierling Sr., her sisters, Rita Addison, Vivian Christy and Myrtis Robertson; brothers, Dotson Cutrer Jr. and Robert Cutrer.
A private family graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery. In order to adhere to the current Jackson County health guidelines Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre will be live-streaming services on Wednesday from our Facebook page. Friends and family members can access live services Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 2:00PM.
Memorial contributions can be given in memory of Doris to the Indiana School for the Deaf, 1200 E 42nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
