Eileen Rachel Mcguire

Eileen Rachel McGuire, 84, died Wednesday, September 28 2016 at the home of her nephew, Duvon and wife Victoria McGuire, west of Underwood. They, for several months, cared for Eileen in their home through her long struggle with multiple myeloma bone cancer.
  Eileen was born November 4 1931 at Underwood Indiana to her parents Francis A McGuire and Louise (Hansen) McGuire. She attended the rural #8 one-room school and graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1949. She graduated from Asbury (College) University, Wilmore, KY in 1953 and received two Master's Degrees in Education from Indiana State at Terre Haute.
  Eileen served forty-five years as a missionary at Southwest Indian School near Phoenix Arizona under WGM, World Gospel Mission of Marion Indiana. Eileen loved her Indian students and their families. Over the years she kept contact with them through letters and e-mails and was happy to hear of their achievements and success.  
  Eileen also taught school in Indiana at Vincennes; #8 school; Finley Township School; and Scott Co School District #1 in Austin.
  Eileen held membership with New Chapel United Methodist Church near Underwood IN.
  Eileen was preceded in death by an infant sister, her parents, her brothers Byron L McGuire and Francis Ivan McGuire, and her sister-in-law Betty L McGuire.
  She is survived by her brother Marvin E McGuire, sisters-in-law Ruth Ann McGuire and Yvonne E. McGuire; nephews and nieces Mary Kay Phillips (Brad), Francis Junior McGuire (Joan), Donald McGuire (Brenda), Dale McGuire (Ida), Karen Bottomly (David), Jeannie Vonderheide (Lee), Duvon McGuire (Victoria), Josiah McGuire (Paige), Martha Munchhof (Michael"Mike"), Maria Hall (Jeffrey"Jeff"), Linda Werst (Michael"Mike"). She is also survived by several great nephews, great nieces, and great great nephews and great great nieces.
