Jakie Allan Cockerham

Jakie Allan Cockerham, age 69, a native of Medora, Indiana and a resident of Freetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born on January 19, 1954 to the late Jakie E. Cockerham and the late Nona (Knapp) Cockerham. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Church and a 1972 graduate of Medora High School.

He was a quiet, funny, sarcastic man that never had anything bad to say about anyone. He was always kind to people. He enjoyed fishing, get togethers with family and friends and walking in the woods. 

He is survived by his wife, Joni (Booker) Cockerham of Freetown, Indiana and two sons, Nick Cockerham and his wife Annette Laraway of Seymour, Indiana and Luke Cockerham and his wife Rebecca of Northern Indiana. One brother, Stanley Cockerham and his wife Connie of Medora, Indiana and three sisters, Joann Wheeler of Clear Springs, Indiana, Rose Mary Cox of Medora, Indiana and Barbara Cowles and her husband Jeffrey of Salem, Indiana. Four grandchildren, Makeyla, Bryan, Ayden and Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Cockerham.

In keeping with his wishes, the family has chosen cremation.
