Loretta M Gardner, 74, of Madison IN and of the Scott County area, died Wednesday, March 30 2011 at her residence in Madison IN. She was born October 16 1936 in Madison to Alvin Lee Rogers & Zona Gayle George Rogers who preceded her in death. She was married to George W Gardner who also preceded her in death. Loretta was formerly employed as a nurse aid; formerly employed at Smiths Cabinet in Salem; formerly employed at Marianne Motel as a desk clerk; and was also a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg. Survivors: sons Lonnie Ray Jones (Ida) of Madison, James C ‘Jay’ Jones (Jo Ann) of Hanover; step sons Roger Lee Gardner (Annette) Vacaville CA, Frank R Gardner (Kim) of Scottsburg; daughters Patricia Elaine Crabbe of Robinson IL, Rhonda S Hill of Madison, Sheryl Lawrence (Donnie) of Lexington; step daughter Pennie Ann Gardner of Ft. Lauderdale FL; sister Carolyn Chilton (James) of Vine Grove KY; 16 grandchildren Tonya Lockhard, Hattie Weaver, Elizabeth Mefford, Timothy Wolfe, James Wolfe, Swatarra Rosenberg, William Andrew Bennett, Jr., James Allen Jones, Jessica Ann Koontz, Joshua Grider, Christopher Grider, Nicholas Lawrence, Richard Gardner, Jake Gardner, Tiff Gardner, Baylan Gardner; 24 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers Nelson Rogers Bernard Rogers, Kenneth ‘Boogie’ Rogers, Clarence Rogers; 4 half brothers Glenford Rogers, Merideth Rogers, Everitt Rogers, Fred Rogers; 2 sisters Georgia Shephard, Zona Belle Wong; 1 half sister Dorothy Rogers. Visitation: 10 AM - NOON, Saturday April 2 2011 at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service.
