Michael L. Gooden

Michael Gooden, age 60 of Freetown, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at his residence. Born October 13, 1955 in Seymour, he was the son of James Louis Gooden Jr. and Ruby Rose (Pray) Gooden. On May 14, 1977 in Indianapolis, Michael married Amy Renee Rooker.

Mike was retired, but loved working on computers. He received his black belt in Karate at an early age. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Amy; their children, Valerie (Gary) Gooden Schoettmer of Anderson and Stephen Gooden of Carmel; grandchildren, Caeley, Logan, Joshua and Matthew Schoettmer; siblings, Jeffrey Gooden and Thomas Gooden both of Fort Lauderdale, FL. and sister Teresa (Jeff) Gooden Waggoner of Freetown. Mike also had 2 aunts and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at a future date. Per Michaels wishes, cremation has been chosen. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Freetown Church of the Nazarene or to the American Lung Association. Friends can sign the guestbook or share a favorite memory at www.WoodlawnFamilyFuneral.com
