Norman Davis

Norman Jay Davis, age 86, a native of Crothersville, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1937 to the late Millard Davis and the late Violet (Banister) Davis. Norman will forever be remembered as a man of high integrity that believed your word was your bond and a handshake was as good as a contract. He was very accepting of people as they were and loved a good conversation and never forgot who you were. He enjoyed puzzles, car detailing, working in his yard, auctions, traveling and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Alene (Gray) Davis of Seymour, Indiana. Four sons, Duane Davis of Brownstown, Indiana, Randy Davis of Paris Crossing, Indiana, Jerry Davis and his wife Michelle of Crothersville, Indiana and Terry Reynolds of Seymour, Indiana. Two daughters, Tammie Cornett and her husband Jeff of Seymour, Indiana and Tina Kessler and her husband Craig of Columbus, Indiana. Two brothers, Jack Davis and his wife Geneva of Seymour, Indiana and Gary Davis and his wife Debbie of Columbus, Indiana. One sister, NaLana Fields of Seymour, Indiana. 13 grandchildren, Greg Davis (Lisa), Carol Davis (Sean), Dustin Reynolds (Jessica), Kameron Hensley (Derek), Ryan Reynolds (Jamie), Morgan Patrick (James), Anna Engelhardt of Germany, Kyle Davis (Marlee), Jared Davis (Savannah), Austin Keener, Lexi Keener, Jasper Davis and Kayden Davis.

Several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of over 30 years, Janet (Ortman) Davis and one daughter-in-law, Lisa Davis.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Seymour Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. 

He will be laid to rest at Uniontown Cemetery.
