Norman Eugene Connell

Norman Eugene Connell, age 77, of Seymour Indiana passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. Born March 15, 1942 in Logansport, Indiana he was the son of Oval and Grace (DeFord) Connell.
Norman was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church and was a Police Officer for many years. He served as a Green Beret in the US Army during Vietnam. Norman had a charming personality and loved God and his family. He enjoyed watching old Cowboy Western shows and listening to Elvis Presley and Johnny cash music. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors and teaching the grand kids about life, the outdoors and about gun safety. Norman was a strong willed and stubborn man that loved life.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Davis) Connell; his daughter, Norma Childers and her husband Mark of Columbus; his son, Eric Connell and his wife Jennifer of Kokomo, Indiana; his grandchildren James Driscoll, Michael Driscoll and his wife Amanda, Phillip Driscoll and fiancé Devin, Eli Connell and Sarah Connell; one great grandson Rowan Driscoll; several cousins and his extended friends and family at Hoosier Christian Village..
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pastor Brian Richard will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre. Visitation for Norman will be from 5:00PM to 9:00PM Friday, January 17, 2020 at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre and on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Columbus.
