Roberta Lee (Bridgewater) Jones

Roberta Lee (Bridgewater) Jones, age 93, a lifelong resident of Scottsburg, Indiana. passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus. She was born on February 1, 1931 to the late James H. Bridgewater and the late Sadie (Johnson) Bridgewater. She was a 1949 graduate of Scottsburg High School and a lifelong faithful member of Scottsburg First Christian Church. She served as the study hall aide at Scottsburg Jr. High School for over 20 years.

Roberta was a loving, caring strong willed lady that was never afraid to tell you what she was thinking. She was all about family did her best raising her boys and kept them involved in many things.

She is survived by her two sons, David Jones of Scottsburg, Indiana and Danny Jones and his wife Sylvia of Scottsburg, Indiana. Six grandchildren, Bonnie Jones, Sara Calvert, Jamie Shreenan, Allison Humphrey, Wesley Davis and Shelby Smith.

Seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Jackie M. Jones, one brother, James Bridgewater and one sister, Mary Anna Bridgewater.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Scottsburg Chapel, 80 N 1st Street, Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Scottsburg Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial be directed to First Christian Church.
