Roger Nichols

Roger Nichols, 83, of Underwood Indiana, passed away March 15 2023 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville Kentucky, He was born August 20 1939 in Gibson Township, Washington County, Indiana, the loving son of Chester E. and Marie (Craig) Nichols. Over the years, he worked at American Can, drove a truck for Lexington Oil and Pepsi, and owned and operated Rockin' N Saddles for many years. He was a former volunteer firefighter in Underwood IN, a former member of the Scott County Saddle Club, and was a member of the Little York Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the bass guitar in several bands including "Monday Night Special' and "Down Yonder". He also loved riding horses and shooting muzzleloaders. Often recognizable by his height, he was known by many and loved others unconditionally.

His life will be cherished by his daughter, Cindy Mullins and her husband, Lenny of Caneyville, Kentucky; his companion Paula Berry of Underwood; his sisters Clara Marie Moon of Scottsburg, Carol Udell of Little York, Joyce Holder and her husband William of Marysville; his brother William "Bill" Nichols and his wife Barb of Scottsburg; his grandchildren Zach Mullins and his companion Brooklyn of Caneyville, Katie Mullins of Caneyville, his great grandchildren Karsyn Mullins, Kylee Mullins, Kohen Mullins and Jackson Strader; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jack Nichols and brothers-in-law Marvin Moon and Skip Udell.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate Roger's life from 2pm until 6pm, Sunday, March 19 2023 at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN.

His family requests memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
