Ronald Stanley Jones

Ronald Stanley Jones, age 87, of Scottsburg Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 26th 2023, at his home. He was born August 8th, 1936 to the late Stanley R Jones and Norma (Key) Jones. Ron was a longtime resident of Scottsburg, and for 36 years was a Driver’s License Examiner for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. He was also co-owner of The Sewing Center in Scottsburg. He was an English High School graduate of the Class of 1955. Ron was a longtime faithful member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, where he loved singing in the church choir. Ron was a proud Band of Warriors parent for both of his children for many years. His passion was to surprise the band with different events for their return from ISSMA State Contest, most notably a fireworks display in the parking lot of the high school. He dearly loved his family and as everyone knows, he dearly loved his cats. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Iris Wright Jones, his son Eric Jones (Laura) of Mooresville IN, his daughter Stefanie Young (Jared) of Columbus OH, his grandchildren Christopher Randall-Jones (Laura) of Indianapolis IN, Hannah Jones Miller (Isaiah) of Greenwood and Sam Jones of Mooresville IN and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation to be held at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home of Scottsburg on January 4th, from 5-7pm, with service immediately following. Expressions of sympathy may be given to Scottsburg United Methodist Church, in care of Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home.
