Royce "Russ" Fate Barlow

Royce Fate “Russ” Barlow, age 89, a native of Florala, Alabama and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1932 to the late Brunner Barlow and the late Edna (Smith) Barlow.
Russ will forever be remembered as a kind man that loved people. He was a “people person” and gave his attention fully to whomever he was talking to and always made then feel important. He loved bowling and enjoyed a trip to Washington D.C that he won as a result of his love for bowling. He loved golfing and fishing as well. He was a faithful member of The Point church. It was while on a trip to Biloxi, Mississippi to assist with hurricane relief that he refocused his life and concentrated on his relationship with Jesus Christ and as a result was faithful until his final breath on this earth.
Russ is survived by the love of his life and wife of over 68 years, Janet (Greene) Barlow of Seymour, Indiana. One daughter, Mary Ann Robinson of Seymour, Indiana and one son, David Barlow of Browstown, Indiana. Two nieces, Kathy Boatman and her husband Jesse of Colorado and Debbie Harrison and her husband Jessie of Alabama. One nephew, Aubrey Newberry and his wife Susan of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Eight grandchildren, Stephanie McPheeters, Aaron Barlow, Adam Barlow, Joshua Barlow, Cortnie Barlow, Olivia Barlow, Allie Barlow and Zane Kirchner. . Thirteen great grandchildren, Candace Barlow, Adalyn Barlow, Aidan McPheeters, Payton Barlow, Alexia Barlow, Ava Barlow, Ethan McPheeters, MacKenzie McPheeters, Halie Barlow, Finley Barlow, Reed Barlow, Arlo Barlow and Addison Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Royce A. Barlow, one brother, Max Barlow and three sisters, Dorothy Keach, Marie Kavorkian and Lois Newberry, one grandson, Jeremiah Barlow.
The family will receive friends on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.
