Ruth "June" Burbrink

June 15, 1918 — June 28, 2016

Ruth “June” (Busby) Burbrink age 98 of Jonesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her home. Born at home on June 15, 1918 in Madison County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gratten and Mabel (McCord) Busby.

June attended Purdue University majoring in home economics. While at Purdue, she met Kenneth Burbrink. They were married on November 7, 1942 on the U.S. Marine Corps Base at Quantico, VA.

They then moved to San Diego, CA where she worked for the US Office of Defense during World War II. Following the war, Ken and June returned to the family farm to begin their family. June was a homemaker and then later went to work at the Columbus Regional Hospital as a dietician.
June was a member of The Point in Seymour. She was active in the church as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, member of Prime Timers, and was involved in the mission work at the church. She worked in the nursery and also served as the kitchen coordinator. She enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening. Her joy was serving others.

Survivors include her children, Curtis L. (Jerri) Burbrink of Jonesville and Jane (Don) Dunnington of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Justin (Laura) Burbrink, Jerad Burbrink, Joel (Becky) Burbrink, Deron (Deawn) Dunnington, Jason Dunnington, Kevin (Alisha) Dunnington; great grandchildren, Beau, Brayden, Brooklyn, Brock, Kingen, Ava June, Hannah, Hailey, Luca, Petra, Henry George and Abe. June is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Robb of Denton, TX.
June was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brother John Busby; sisters Martha Kinz and Annalee Busby.

Pastor Steve Greene will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at The Point at 311 Myers Street. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre and then on Saturday from 10:00am until service time at the church. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Point, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or to the Burbrink-Dunnington Ministry Endowed Scholarship at Olivet Nazarene University.
