Stanley Edward Wolka

Stanley E. Wolka, 88, Seymour passed away on July 7, 2023 at Covered Bridge Nursing Home.

Born November 27, 1934 in Vallonia, he was the son of Avahnell Mantz Wolka Miller and Andrew Wolka. On May 20, 1961, he married Shirley A. Gottfried and together they shared 62 years.

He retired in 1993 from Cummins Engine Co. after 37 years of employment. He served in the U.S. Army (1957-1959) and the Army Reserves (1959-1963) and lived all of his life in Jackson County.

Other survivors include a son, Andrew T. Wolka, Zionsville; a daughter, Anne M. Wolka, Zionsville; a brother, James L. (Katrina) Miller, North Vernon; and two nieces, Patty (Gary) Stewart and Margie (Joe) Frieje.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters: Delores Jean Wolka, Ruby Pate, Lena Trueman, and Edna Donahue.

The family has chosen cremation and private family memories will be held.
