Susan Scott

February 8, 1953 — November 23, 2022

Susan Elaine (Wheeler) Scott, age 69, a native and resident of Seymour, Indiana, went peacefully to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. She was born on February 8, 1953. She was the daughter of the late William E. Wheeler and the late Helen M. (Williams) Wheeler Vaughn and her step-dad, Robert Vaughn whom she loved very much.  She was a 1971 graduate of Seymour High School. On July 26, 1975, she married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Scott and together they shared over forty seven years.

She was a lifelong member of The Point Church where she had been an active choir member, children's worker and was always willing to help anywhere she was needed. She was the librarian at Seymour Jackson School for many years and took much pride in helping design the library for the new school building. She had a very big heart and love for others, often giving little gifts and cards. Susie made every occasion fun with her wit and humor and had a smile that lit up the room. She took great interest in the lives of her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Scott of Seymour, Indiana, two daughters, Angie McDonald and her husband Matt of Seymour, Indiana and Kristie Newell and her husband Tim of Wildwood, Missouri. One brother, Jeffrey (Lori) Vaughn of Seymour, Indiana and three sisters, Shirley (Lloyd) Hudson, Becky (Ty) Johnson,  Anne (Tim) Carpenter, all of Seymour, Indiana. Three grandchildren, Emerson McDonald, Caden and Alex Newell. Her nieces and nephews include, Jenni Hunnicutt, Jay Hudson, Ben (Pam) Hudson, Brad (Allison) Johnson, Kiley (Bradley) Norris, Tammy (Harley) Jackson, Andrew (Brittany) Carpenter, Kimberly (Mike) Elder, Kathleen (Allen) Hoover, Aaron (Brittany) Vaughn and Robert Vaughn.

She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
