Virgie Almeda Moore

August 20, 1937 — July 25, 2020

“Virgie would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.”

Virgie Almeda (Williams) Moore, 82 of Brownstown passed peacefully at home from Kidney failure at 3:45pm. Saturday, July 25, 2020.Virgie entered into this world on August 20, 1937 in Salem Indiana she was the daughter of the late Charles Marshal Williams Sr. and Gertrude (Tompkins) Williams.
She met the love of her life Kenneth M Moore in Jackson County where they married at the young age of 18. November 4, 2020 they would have been happily married 63 wonderful years. Together they were blessed with 7 children, 18 Grandchildren, and 39 Great Grandchildren.

Virgie retired from Dura in Brownstown. She was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church. Mostly being a Homemaker, her number one passion in life was her family. She was a dedicated, loving wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children as well as grandchildren and so forth.

She had a one of a kind Spit-fire personality. She loved to cut up and have fun. She loved music and would dance her heart out. She was an incredibly strong woman, mentally and emotionally. At the age of 72, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and overcame it with the Grace of God. She was an absolute joy to everyone who knew her and was ever so loving and caring. You would often find her in the kitchen fixing up something delicious and homemade. She was an absolute Amazing cook. No one ever came close to her Famous Chili or Chicken and Noodles or her twist on pancakes as well. As kids when we would come to visit, you could already bet that she’s either got something made up or she’s gonna make something up for you! No one ever left Grandma’s house hungry.

Grandma always kept her house festive. She loved all the Holidays and would always decorate the house up with lights and decor. She had a green thumb for gardening and absolutely loved the outdoors. In the summertime, you could find her sitting in the backyard under a shade tree sipping her Big Red. She also loved camping, going to auctions, taking the boat out, and even just sitting on the riverbank fishing with the family.

She is survived by her Spouse Kenny Moore; her children, Donald Moore, Michael Sr Moore, Mark Moore, Steve Moore, Beth Moore, Gina Gasaway and Kenneth Moore Jr; her grandchildren, Steven, Natasha, Michael Jr., Heather, Jason, Randall, Anthony, Briana, Alicia, Chasity, Devin, Zachary, Chelsea, Maegan, Brandon, Kenneth “Logan” III, Austin, Jordan Moore; thirty nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Verle (Ramona) Williams; David (Becky) Williams both of Brownstown; her sisters, Virginia”Jenny” Vititoe of Seymour; Shirley (Ivan) Wessel of Brownstown; Patsy(Curt)Barker of Spraytown; Judy(Mike) Evans of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She is preceded in death by both parents, 3 brothers Virgil Williams, Charles Williams Jr, Vernon Williams, and 1 brother in-law Ivan Vittitoe.
