Virgil Leroy Lanham Virgil Leroy Lanham, age 71 of Canaan, passed away on Thursday May 28, 2015 at his residence. Born June 26, 1943 in Jefferson County, Indiana he was the son of Lawrence Leroy and Florence I. (Henry) Lanham. Mr. Lanham retired from Rockwell Automation in 2001 with 39 years. He was of the Presbyterian faith and recently attended Cross Plains Church of Christ. He was a member of the Versailles American Legion Post #173. He enjoyed music, canning fruits and vegetables, walking with his dog and family genealogy. He was a collector of John Wayne and Bugs Bunny memorabilia. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vivian Lanham and two brothers, Rev. Paul Lanham and Albert Lanham. SURVIVORS Mr. Lanham is survived by his wife Paula “Charlot” (Bradley) Lanham of Canaan, whom he married on September 30, 2000; his step daughter, Sarah Neale of Carrollton, KY; his four step sons, Timothy Blair Jr. and his companion Dawn, of Madison, P.J. Blair and his wife Sharon of Madison, Paul and Josh Neale both of Warsaw, KY. He is also survived by his two sisters, Anna Faye Little and her husband Richard of Madison, Fern Melton of Canaan; one brother, Kenneth Lanham and his wife Joyce of Lexington, Indiana; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several sister and brother in laws. GRAVESIDE SERVICES Pastor Ron Lee will conduct funeral services Monday June 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Vail Chapel, 2800 Michigan Road, with interment at Salem Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by The Versailles American Legion Post # 173 Honor Guard at the Salem Cemetery. VISITATION Friends and family may call at the Woodlawn Vail Funeral Chapel on Monday June 1, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. EXPRESSIONS OF SYMPATHY Memorial contributions can be made to the Virgil Lanham Memorial Fund C/O Woodlawn Vail Funeral Chapel. Contribution cards will be available at the Woodlawn Family
