Virginia Lee Reed

Virginia Lee (Hawn) Reed, 91, of Little York IN, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Salem Crossing facility in Salem IN. She was born February 15, 1933 in Michigan IN to the late David Hawn and the late Anna E (Smelser) Hawn. She was married to the late Byron F Reed. Virginia was a Christian by faith. She was a graduate of Indiana University with a Masters Degree in Education and retired from teaching at Marion Adams High School in Sheridan IN. After retirement, Virginia & Byron enjoyed traveling to National Parks. She immensely enjoyed being outdoors in nature and was an accomplished photographer. She didn’t just take pictures, she developed and printed the pictures, after having constructed her own dark room for her photography. The family was always amazed at her ability to teach herself anything just by reading about a subject. She enjoyed cooking and everyone loved her broccoli salad. Survivors: daughter Lisa A Mann & husband Rick of Little York; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son David F Reed and daughters Linda Reed and Virginia Lynn Reed.

Pastor Wayne Grumbling will conduct a Graveside Service at a later date at the Little York Cemetery, Hwy 39 North, Scottsburg IN.
