Wanda Morris

Wanda (Spurlock) Morris, age 74 of Seymour, passed away on Friday, June 17th at Schneck Medical Center. Born November 29, 1941 at Frontier Nursing Center in Hyden, Kentucky, Wanda was the daughter of Jim and Sarah (Barger) Spurlock. On May 28, 1960 in Saul, Kentucky, she married Herman Morris, who passed away on June 20, 2015.
Moving to Seymour from Buckhorn, Kentucky in her early 20’s, Wanda worked at Schneck Medical Center and the Lutheran Community Home . She was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Chapel in Seymour. She enjoyed church activities and calling on those in the nursing homes and hospitals. She also enjoyed Southern Gospel Music.
Survivors include her children, Mary Morris of MN, James (Wanda) Morris of Norfolk, VA and Sandra Rachel Bryant of Seymour; her sister Edna (Spurlock) Bowling of Manchester, KY; brothers-in-law, Charles (Thelma) Morris of Boonville, KY, Ervin (Linda) Morris, Jr. of Freetown and James (Connie) Morris of Boonville, KY; sister-in-law, Velma (Fred) Hafley of Zoe, KY; grandchildren, David Morris, Rebekah Jones, Jonathan Morris, Benjamin Ball, Joshua Butcher, Amanda Butcher, Casey Stover, Christopher Stover, Cameron Stover, and Keegan Stover; Wanda also had 9 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her, husband, parents, three sisters; Ida Deaton, Martha McIntosh and Mary Holbrook, five brothers; Lester, Ford, Arnold, Burt, Marshall Spurlock and one brother-in-law, Robert Morris.
Brother Larry Dalton and Brother Ryan Bradley will conduct services at 10:00am Tuesday, June 21 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd in Seymour. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and then on Tuesday from 9:00am until service time. Burial will follow services at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Austin.
