Alison Grace Spencer, affectionately known as Ali Grace, passed away on March 7, 2026, at her residence in Scottsburg, Indiana. Born on March 17, 2004, in Jeffersonville, Alison's life was a bright blossom, just beginning to unfurl its promise and beauty.
Alison was a radiant light within her community, known for her funny sense of humor and a smile that could lift the spirits of anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She carried with her an infectious positivity that touched the hearts of many. A beloved daughter, sister, and granddaughter, Alison’s family was central to her life; her laughter and love woven into every shared moment.
Her journey through education shaped much of who she became. Alison attended Scott County Schools until 2020 and proudly graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 2023. With a determined spirit, she embarked on adulthood with a full-time job at Indiana Bottling Co and proudly cared for her own apartment. She faced the challenges of responsibility with grace and a quiet strength, embracing each new day with hope and enthusiasm.
Beyond her work and education, Alison nurtured a love for creative pursuits that spoke to her gentle soul. Crocheting was among her treasured hobbies, through which she crafted beautiful hats, scarves, and blankets, each stitch a testament to her dedication and artistry. She found joy in drawing and cooking, activities she often enjoyed with those she loved. From her earliest days, Alison adored singing, a lifelong passion that brought joy not only to herself but to all who heard her. She had a special fondness for sushi and cherished moments spent with her family, creating memories to treasure.
Alison leaves behind a cherished circle of living family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is survived by her loving mother, Valerie Gunter of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her siblings Blake Gunter, Alexis Gunter, and Wesley Gunter, all residing in Jeffersonville. Her beloved grandparents, Tina and Pete Whitehead of Scottsburg, along with her great grandpa, Wendell Moreland of Scottsburg, stand among those who grieve deeply yet find comfort in her memory.
Her extended family also mourns her loss but celebrates the vibrant life she lived. Aunts and uncles Angela and Jim Walter of Charlestown, Indiana; Dawn and Adam Wells of Scottsburg, Indiana; Stephen and Lauren Spencer of Scottsburg; Thomas Spencer of Louisville, Kentucky; Emily and Adam Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky; and Charlotte and Andy Frei of Jackson Hole, Wyoming remember Alison’s spark and kindness. She is lovingly remembered by cousins Travis, Connor, Dylan, Olivia, Noel, Natalie, Nathanial, Danielle, Madison, Hunter, Hannah, Maci, Lucy, Henry, and Soren.
Even Tiger, her beloved pet, was part of the warmth and companionship Alison treasured. Together with her family and friends, Tiger was a silent witness to her acts of kindness and joy.
Though Alison’s time with us was far too brief, the impact she made is everlasting. Her positive light continues to warm the lives of those who loved her, guiding them through grief with memories of her laughter, her radiant smile, and the love she so freely gave.
