Angela Marie Thompson, age 48, a radiant spirit whose life was a tapestry woven with fierce love, compassion, and unapologetic authenticity, passed away on May 29, 2026, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. Born on May 21, 1978, in Seymour, Indiana, Angela spent her days walking boldly through the world, deeply rooted in her Christian faith and fiercely devoted to the love of Jesus, which was the guiding light of her heart and soul.

A 1996 graduate of Brownstown High School, Angela carried with her a free-spirited soul that marched passionately to the beat of her own drum. Her presence was marked by a generous heart that extended kindness to anyone in need, uttered with the courage of one unafraid to speak her mind. To know Angela was to know a woman who was as outspoken as she was tender, never shying away from standing up for what she believed in, yet always reaching out with generosity and love.

Angela found great joy and peace in the embrace of mother nature. She loved the outdoors deeply—the delicate dance of flowers in the breeze mirrored her own wild and vibrant spirit. Justice, her beloved dog, was a constant companion, a faithful friend who shared many moments of joy and solace in the gardens of her life. Her connection to the earth and its beauty was as natural as the faith she lived by.

Surviving Angela are those whose lives she so profoundly touched: her life partner of 17 years, Darron Hurley of Brownstown, Indiana, who stood steadfast by her side; her children, Levi Owens and Demetria of Phoenix, Arizona, Cassius Sumpter of Brownstown, Indiana, and Faith Sumpter of Freetown, Indiana, each a testament to her strength and love. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Carrie Schryer and her husband Brian of Seymour, Indiana, and Alicia Reichenbacker and her husband Bart, also of Seymour. The glow of her legacy is carried forward by her four grandchildren—Athena, Ali, Aurora, and Audrey—who carry pieces of her vibrant spirit within them.

Angela’s journey through life was shadowed by the loss of beloved family members who preceded her: her father, Samuel Thompson; her mother, Margaret Diane (Dixon) Fish; and her granddaughter, Olivia, whose memory she held close in her heart.

Angela Marie Thompson’s life was a testament to living boldly, loving deeply, and embracing the divine grace that carried her through triumph and tribulation alike. Her story is carved into the landscapes she cherished—the flowers that bloom, the winds that whistle softly through the trees—and within the hearts of all who were touched by her luminous spirit. Though she has departed from this earthly plane, her legacy endures, whispering through the gardens of time and the souls of those who loved her.

The family has chosen cremation and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Daniel and Besty Christensen have been entrusted with the arrangements.
