Arnold Douglas Reams

Jul 4, 1941 — Aug 25, 2026

Arnold Douglas Reams, 85, passed away on August 25, 2026, at his residence in Scottsburg. He was born on July 4, 1941, in Hart County, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by devotion to his family, steady work, quiet strength, and deep faith.

A 1959 graduate of Hart County High School, Arnold also attended the University of Louisville. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed as a guard to a general in Thailand. That spirit of discipline and dedication remained with him throughout his life and work.

Arnold was the owner of Reams Concrete and Gifts, where he was known for making his own ornamental molds. His work reflected both skill and creativity, and he took pride in building something with his own hands. He was gentle, strong, and hard-working, a man who loved his family deeply and was, above all, a family man. A Christian by faith, he carried himself with a steady and grounded presence that touched those around him.

He also found joy in the things he loved most. Arnold enjoyed flying the airplane he personally built, a remarkable reflection of his craftsmanship and adventurous spirit. He also enjoyed riding and spending long hours with family, making memories in the company of those he loved best.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Lynda Reams, who shared his life and love. He is also survived by his daughters, April Ramon of Chicago, Illinois, and her husband, Greg; Kate Vernon of Scottsburg; and Andrea Painter. He is further survived by his brother, Don Reams of Bonnieville, Kentucky. Those who knew Arnold will remember the warmth he brought to his family and the dependable love that was at the center of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herschal Reams; his mother, Luranna Reams; his daughters, Yvonne Gibson and Teresa Tamayo; his brother, Johnny Reams; and his sister, Barbara Faye Richards. Their memories remained part of his life’s story and are now joined with his in eternal rest.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 31, 2026, at Lexington Cemetery, State Road 356, Lexington, Indiana 47138.

Arnold Douglas Reams will be remembered with love for his faithful heart, his hardworking hands, and the deep care he gave to his family. His life leaves behind a lasting example of strength, kindness, and devotion.
