Barbara Allen Plaskett Atwood

Barbara Allen Atwood, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at her residence in Memphis, Indiana. Born on January 13, 1964, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Brumitt) Plaskett. For over 42 years, she was united in marriage to Steven William Atwood and they were blessed with two sons: Steven and Todd.

Barbara was a remarkable woman who devoted much of her professional life to working in a factory environment, spending over twenty years at Alumi Tech in Clarksville, Indiana. Later on, she worked as a clerk at the Goodwill Store and the Dollar General Store, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and willingness to help others. Beyond her career, Barbara was a truly wonderful person—lovable, generous, and endlessly devoted to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her heart. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, quilting, drawing, coloring, and painting.  

Barbara's life will be cherished by her sons, Steven Atwood and his wife, Candace, of Lexington, Indiana, and Todd Atwood with his wife, Cybreena, of Scottsburg, indiana; her grandchildren: Jack Atwood, Emma Atwood, Autumn Atwood, Zeke Pritchard, Aidyn Atwood, Gaven Atwood, Makynna Atwood, Hunter Standiford, and Levi Boggess; her brothers: Dale Plaskett of Memphis, Indiana, Joe Plaskett and his wife Mary of Lexington, Indiana, and Gary Plaskett of Pekin, Indiana; her sisters: Debbie Haines of Charlestown, Indiana, Judy Daniels and her husband Robbie of Utica, Indiana, and Carol Plaskett of Sellersburg, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Steven William Atwood who passed away on February 7, 2022 and her brother, Larry Plaskett.

A Celebration of Life will be announced by Barbara's family soon.
