Bobbie Sue Hensley Hamilton, a cherished soul whose life was a tapestry woven with kindness and care, departed this life on March 6, 2026, at her residence. Born on August 31, 1951, in the town of Manchester, Kentucky, Bobbie spent her years embracing the beauty of life with a dynamic spirit that left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A proud 1971 graduate of Salem High School, Bobbie carried her roots into her career, dedicating over 17 years as a custodian for Jackson County Schools. In this role, she gave not just her labor but her heart, ensuring that the spaces she cared for shone with warmth and cleanliness. It was in these halls she infused her gentle compassion, nurturing the minds and spirits of the young ones who crossed her path.

Bobbie was a member of Reddington Christian Church, a place where her faith flourished and blossomed. She exemplified what it meant to be a good ole-fashioned country Christian girl, living her life in accordance with the values that uplifted both herself and those around her. Her vibrant personality illuminated even the darkest of days, as she embraced each moment with a tenderness that was uniquely her own.

Her love for reading opened gateways to other worlds, while her passion for collecting baskets reflected a keen eye for beauty in the simple things in life. She was also a culinary artist in her own right, renowned for her delightful southern cooking—her chili was famously second to none, a recipe passed down through generations, filled with love and flavors that brought family and friends together around the table.

In the tapestry of her life, Bobbie wove strong bonds with family and friends. She leaves behind her devoted husband Ronald Hamilton, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Together, they crafted a love story marked by partnership, laughter, and unwavering support. Her mother, Chelsie Bowling Hensley, will continue to carry the legacy of her daughter’s warmth, while her brother Felix Hensley Jr. and sisters Eva Peavlor and her husband Tom, Helen Brewer, and Margaret Faye Walker will hold onto the memories that bind them as a family.

Her daughter Wendy Cheatwood and her husband James of Salem, Indiana, take with them the lessons and love imparted through years of nurturing. The joys of motherhood in Bobbie’s life extended into the next generation, with her granddaughter Ashley Meadows and her husband Spencer, who continue the familial thread with their own blessings—three great-grandchildren who will embody the essence of Bobbie’s gentleness and compassion.

In a world that can often be hurried and transactional, Bobbie Sue Hensley Hamilton reminded those around her of the importance of kindness, love, and faith. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loving family and friends, and her memory will forever be etched in the stories shared and the lives she touched. Though she has departed from our sight, her legacy remains—a radiant light guiding those fortunate enough to have known her.

The family has chosen cremation.
