Brett Christopher Eldridge

Brett Christopher Eldridge, age 39, a lifelong resident of Seymour, Indiana passed away unexpectedly in Columbus, Indiana. He was born on January 29, 1987 to Terry Eldridge and Carol (Deputy) Oktavec - Fleetwood and her husband Greg of Seymour, Indiana.

Brett was a member of Rockford Community Church for 27 years and a 2005 graduate of Seymour High School. He obtained his B.S. in Sociology from Ball State. Brett will forever be remembered as a fun loving, compassionate, quiet and reflective man that stayed mostly to himself but cherished his High School friends that he has remained close to. He enjoyed running in marathons, playing the drums and music with jazz and rock being his favorites. 

He is survived by his parents, One brother, Shane Eldridge and his fiancé Cathy Tays of Elizabethtown, Indiana, one step brother, Tom Oktavec and his wife Crissy of Fairborn, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Chad Aaron Eldridge, step father, Tom Oktavec, paternal grandparents, Roy Eldridge and Sonia (Steward) Eldridge and maternal grandparents, Rowland Deputy and Patricia (Mize) Deputy. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Seymour Chapel. Visitation will resume on Thursday July 2, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
