Brian Scott Asbury, age 48 of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. Born May 5, 1970 in Seymour, he was the son of Donald Wayne Asbury and Beverly Joann (Cummings) Purdue. After nine years together, Brian married Lori Findley on May 21, 2005 in Seymour.
Brian attended Seymour High School. He had worked 15 years at Lincare and delivered liquid oxygen. Brian enjoyed dirt track racing and had even raced years back in the Amateur Class. Along with his family, Brian volunteered in the Rumble for the Cure for American Cancer Society. He loved his Harley Davidson and would hang out most Friday’s at Mann’s Harley Davidson with his buddies. He was particular about his hair and would go every other Friday to Coach’s Barbershop and spend time with the boys. He enjoyed attending rock concerts, hanging with friends, cooking and was well loved and will be remembered for his humor. Everyone loved being around and spending time with Brian, he was one of a kind. Brian was inseparable with his wife Lori and loved spending time with his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife, Lori; father, Donald of Brownstown; mother, Beverly (Donald) Purdue of Lake Placid, FL; children, Rylan Asbury, Bryan (Brittany Hillenburg) Asbury, Tyler Asbury and Brendan Nantz; grandchildren, Holden, Cole and Blake; siblings, Douglas (Gloria) Asbury of Seymour, Craig (Dawn) Asbury of Indianapolis and Donnie Asbury of Seymour; grandmother, Pearl Ann Cummings; mother-in-law, Cynthia Findley of Seymour; sister-in-law, Misty (Chris) Derringer of Columbus. Brian also leaves behind 3 fur kids, Isabella, Sullie and Findley as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by a child; grandparents, James Robert Cummings and Martha Armstrong and father-in-law, Jim Findley.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, October 1, 2018 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be from 11:00am on Monday until service time. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials in Brian’s memory can be made at the funeral home to team “Rumble for the Cure” for the American Cancer Society.
