Bill William Perry

March 9, 1957 — October 8, 2025

Claude "Bill" William Perry, age 68, a gentle soul with a heart as vast as the open Indiana skies, departed this world on October 8, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Born on March 9, 1957, in the quaint town of Seymour, Indiana, Bill was a beacon of warmth and kindness that illuminated the lives of many.

A 1975 graduate of Seymour High School, Bill was more than just a quiet presence; he was a man who understood that true wisdom often lies in listening. With his generous spirit and wonderful sense of humor, he cultivated friendships that transcended mere acquaintanceship, offering help and support to those in need without hesitation. He believed in the power of connection and touched the hearts of those around him in ways that words often fail to describe.

Bill's passions brought him immense joy. He found solace in the tranquil act of fishing, casting his line and reeling in moments of reflection and peace. His heart beat for the Indianapolis Colts, the Cincinnati REDS, and IU Men’s Basketball, as he cheered passionately for his beloved teams. A regular at the casino, he found excitement in the thrill of games, all while being accompanied by his beloved dogs, who added an extra layer of happiness to his life.

Bill shared thirty-three loving years of marriage with his wife, Judy Hollin Perry of Brownstown, Indiana. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his son, Nathan W. Perry and his wife, Amanda, from Florida; his daughter, Erika Burton and her husband, Justin, hailing from Michigan; and his stepsons—Joe Gambrel of Scottsburg, Indiana, Timothy Gambrel and his wife, Ada, of Columbus, Indiana, and Nathan Gambrel and his wife, Heidi, from Seymour, Indiana. The joy of his life multiplied in the smiles of seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each a reflection of his legacy.

He also leaves behind his siblings, brother Randy Perry and his wife, Peggy, of Scottsburg, Indiana; sister Sheila Blake and her husband, David, of Norman, Indiana; and sister Shawna Hayes and her husband, Johnny, from Seymour, Indiana. Their bond, forged in childhood, remained strong and unwavering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Perry and Minnie Abner Perry, one brother, Robert Perry and two grandchildren. Though they are no longer with us, their influence shaped Bill into the remarkable man we remember—a man of quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and boundless love.

A visitation in his honor will take place on October 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM, both at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Winklepleck Chapel, located at 320 N. High Street, Brownstown, Indiana. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery.

As we hold dear the memories of Bill—his laughter, his warmth, his unwavering generosity—let us remember not just the man we lost, but the countless lives he touched along the way. In the hearts of many, his spirit will forever linger, a gentle reminder of love, kindness, and the importance of listening.
