Coltin M. Simkins, age 30 of Norman, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, August 1, 2025. Born on September 22, 1994 in Galesburg, Illinois, he was the son of Christina Simkins of Medora, Indiana and Scott Simkins of Orleans, Indiana.
Coltin enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, no matter what season it was. However, he enjoyed deer hunting the most. He loved getting out on his side by side, cruising the woods and drinking a beer or looking for his next hunting spot. He loved nothing more than making the black smoke roll in this truck, especially when another Dodge thought they were better.
All that knew Coltin knew how he was and loved him how he was.
Survivors include his parents, Christina Simkins and Scott Simkins; his sisters: Courtney Fasnacht of Columbus, Indiana and Mallorie (Jake) Huebel of Scipio, Indiana; several nieces and nephews: Braden Guffey, Elexus Lovelace who always said Coltin was her favorite, Carter Weaver, Emily Huebel and Leo Huebel; his maternal grandfather, Clifford Guffey of Brownstown, Indiana; his paternal grandparents: Gary and Evelyn Simkins of Alexis, Illinois; several aunts and uncles, and many members of the Pemberton Family that he considered brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death his maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Guffey.
A visitation for family and friends to honor Coltin will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home, 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour, Indiana.
