David Jordan Bryan Barrett

David Jordan Bryan Barrett, 26, also lovingly known as "Cali Connect" and "Mellow as Yellow", passed away on August 24, 2026.

Born on February 6, 2000, David was a quiet, shy, and sweet-natured soul whose gentle presence brought comfort to the people around him. He was willing to help wherever he was needed, loyal to his friends and family, and especially devoted to his mom. To those who knew him best, David was a safe place—a steady, caring presence whose kindness could be felt in both small moments and lasting ways.

David worked as a fork lift driver at Klosterman Baking of Indiana. He was also currently an automotive student at Lincoln Tech, continuing to build on his natural curiosity and hands-on talents. He loved tinkering with anything electronic, taking things apart and putting them back together, and he found enjoyment in understanding how things worked. Along with his mechanical interests, he also loved to sing, adding another warm and personal note to the life he lived. David loved cars, especially his Mustang. He loved listening to rap music, and he loved his animals. He had 9 cats and one dog named Runz who was always his sidekick.

He is survived by his father, David Barrett; his mother, April Bolden Lanham; his brother, Trenton Barrett and his fiancée, Dawn; his sister, Haley Hayes and her spouse, Haven, of Salem, Indiana; and his half-sisters, Kimberly Barrett and Olivia Robertson. In the love of his family and friends, David’s memory will remain close, treasured for the goodness, loyalty, and gentle heart he shared so freely.

David will be remembered with affection for his sweetness, his helpful spirit, and the quiet strength of his presence. His life leaves an imprint on all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will continue to be carried forward with love.
