David Lopez Rivera, a master carpenter whose skilled hands crafted beauty from raw timber, passed away on December 12, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by the warm embrace of his loving family. Born on January 4, 1942, in the sun-kissed town of Humacao, Puerto Rico, David's life was a mosaic of kindness, hard work, and laughter that resonated through all who knew him.
His commitment to his craft was only rivaled by his devotion to his family. David embodied the rare blend of a kind-hearted spirit and a tireless work ethic, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He was a wonderful family man, nurturing his loved ones with the same care he put into every intricate detail of his carpentry. The essence of his being was woven from threads of compassion and humor; he had a knack for filling rooms with joy and music, often seen strumming his guitar and serenading those around him with songs that mirrored his zest for life.
David is survived by his cherished children: David Lopez Rodriguez Sr. of Rochester, NY, Beatrize Lopez Rodriguez and her husband Francis of Seymour, Indiana, and Adriana Lopez Rodriguez of Rochester, NY. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Raul Rivera, and his wife Norma of Puerto Rico, along with four grandchildren whose lives will forever be touched by his legacy—Astrid Reyes, Angel Morales, Yandiel Gonzales, and Jovonee Gonzales. The light of his life will continue to shine through his three great-grandchildren, Camila Pagan, Mason Neste, and Nova Lee Moralez.
David is preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Carlos Lopez and Adriana Rivera Lopez, whose love and guidance laid the foundation of the remarkable man he became.
As we gather our memories of David Lopez Rivera, we celebrate a life lived fully, a heart that knew no bounds, and a spirit that will forever resonate in the laughter and love of those he cherished most. His journey may have concluded, but the imprint he left upon the worlds of his family and friends will endure, echoing through laughter, music, and the bonds of love that remain unbroken.
A private celebration of life will be held.
