Dustin Wayne Petty

Dustin Wayne Petty, 30, of Sellersburg IN passed away on December 30 2023. He was born March 28 1993 in Clarksville IN to Brian Petty and Doyletta Metcalf Caro. Dustin was married January 29 2019 to Alex Carroll Petty. He was a Scottsburg High School graduate with the Class of 2011 and employed with Petty Contracting. He served with the U. S. Marine Corps for 6 years. Dustin was a Christian by faith, loved his children, adored his family, and placed everyone ahead of himself. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, travelling, and motorcycle riding. He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. Survivors to honor his memory include his mother Doyletta Caro of Florida; his father and step mother Brian Petty and Jennifer Porter Petty of Lexington; his wife Alex Carroll Petty; his children Trenton James Petty of Sellersburg, Skylar Baker-Petty of Scottsburg, Marley Petty of Scottsburg, Jada Petty of Sellersburg; siblings Jerome Caro (Kristina) of Panama Beach FL, C. J. Petty of Lexington; Brianna Petty of Kentucky, Jaylynn Petty of Lexington and Jaslynn Petty of Lexington; grandfather Robert Petty of Florida; grandparents J.C. and Mary Porter of Lexington. He was preceded in death by a sister Courtney Marie Caro and grandparents Robert and Velma Moody.

Visitation: Monday, January 8 2024, 5pm - 8pm and Tuesday, January 9 2024 9am - 10am, at the funeral home.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 8 2024, 10am, Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN 47170.  Burial with graveside military honors will be Tuesday, Noon, at Indiana Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Madison IN.
