Scottsburg

Edward Dale Rogers, born on June 20, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, departed from this world on September 24, 2024, at Hampton Oaks, Scottsburg, Indiana. He left behind a legacy woven with love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to his family and faith.

A proud graduate of New Albany High School, Ed exemplified what it meant to be a devoted family man. His life was characterized by an extraordinary generosity and a selfless spirit, traits that endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Together with his beloved wife, Donna (Campbell) Rogers, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years, Ed cultivated a nurturing home filled with warmth and laughter.

Ed’s life was marked by his unyielding dedication to his community and his church. For over 14 years, he found profound fulfillment within the walls of Elevation Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. Serving as a Church Elder for more than a decade, he demonstrated the heart of a servant, readily offering help wherever needed. To him, faith was not just a belief; it was a way of life. His love for his church echoed through his actions, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him.

In his leisure, Ed relished watching IU Basketball, a passion that added a spark to his vibrant spirit. He took immense pride in mowing his lawn, reflecting his industrious nature and attention to detail.

Ed's legacy lives on through his children, Aaron Rogers and his wife Cathy of Georgetown, Indiana; Rick Beutel and his wife Dana of Underwood, Indiana; Michael Smith and his wife April of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; Steve Beutel of Indiana; Melinda Beutel and her spouse Amy Freyberger of Dubois, Indiana; Crystal Smith of Louisville, Kentucky; Sunny Stewart and her husband Thomas of Scottsburg, Indiana; and Laura Lee and her husband Aaron of New Zealand. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to four little ones, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

He is survived by his dear sister, Janice Belviy, and her husband Bob of Scottsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Faye (Banet) Rogers, and his beloved brother, Don Rogers.

As we bid farewell to Edward Dale Rogers, we remember a man whose life was a testimony to love, faith, and integrity—a gentle soul who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, and left a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The Apostle Paul said in

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
