Elizabeth Ann Hoard Briddle, beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on July 13, 2025, at her residence. Born on October 4, 1945, in Scottsburg, Indiana, Ann was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
A devoted homemaker and friend to many, Ann worked as a clerk at JayC Foods, where she greeted everyone with a smile. Her joyful spirit was evident in her personality; she was always happy to see everyone, making every encounter feel special. Ann's education at Deputy High School of Jefferson County laid the foundation for a life rich in community engagement and personal connection.
She possessed an unwavering passion for hobbies that reflected her creative spirit, particularly in quilting, crocheting, and baking. Known for her delicious cherry delight, Ann delighted family and friends with her culinary creations. Her favorite flowers were yellow roses, reflecting her sunny disposition and love for life.
Ann is survived by her loving children, Donald Joe Briddle of Lexington, Indiana; Paul Robert Briddle of Bedford, Indiana; and Angela Gene Spicer of Scottsburg, Indiana. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Jim Hoard and his wife Eula of Lexington, Indiana; her sister, Mary Duckwall of Mexico, Maine; and her sister Rose Fergison and her husband Bob of Lexington, Indiana. Ann was a proud grandmother to Michael Spicer and Robert Briddle, who will carry forward her legacy of love and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Briddle; her parents, John and Mable Jennings Hoard; her brothers, John David Hoard and Richard Hoard; her sister Lucille Walters; and her grandchildren, Matthew Spicer and Zatha Briddle. The love Ann shared with her family and friends will forever remain in their hearts.
Visitation services will be held on July 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a second visitation from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on July 17, 2025, at Christensen - Hoagland Family Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. A funeral service will take place shortly after, beginning at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Blocher, Indiana.
