Gary David Boofer

Gary David Boofer, 64 of Salem, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019. He was born January 27, 1954, in Bedford, Indiana, the son of the late Ira M. and Berniece E. (Brown) Boofer.
After graduating from Bedford North Lawrence, he joined the Air Force where he served for 22 years until his retirement. While he was serving, he was stationed in the UK where he remained after his retirement until 2008.
Gary was a firm believer in family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed reading westerns and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Gary D. Boofer, Jr., Stephen A. Boofer, Lucinda Townsend and Corinda (Charles) Reed, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ty (Mandy) Boofer. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna L. Steward.
Services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2019, at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home. Graveside Military Service will follow at 2:30 PM at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
