Hal Deaton McIntosh, a loving husband and devoted family man, passed away on July 5, 2025, at his residence in Seymour, Indiana. Born on July 12, 1965, in Middletown, Ohio, Hal's journey through life was marked by an abundance of love, hard work, and dedication to his family, values he lived by until the very end.
As a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church, Hal found solace and strength in his faith, embodying the virtues of a good-hearted man who was slow to anger and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was the quintessential hard worker and provider, tirelessly toiling to ensure that his family was cared for and loved.
Hal had a passion for cooking, a skill that brought joy to many gatherings and family meals. His expertise in grilling and the art of preparing perfect steaks, stir fry, and hamburgers made him a beloved figure in any kitchen, where he infused each dish with his warmth and love. The family gathered around the grill not just for the meals but for the memories created with laughter and connection—moments woven into the fabric of their lives.
He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Lamon and Jean Deaton McIntosh, and brothers Lon and Schuyler, Hal cherished the blessings of his surviving family. He is survived by his beloved wife Maggie Freeman McIntosh, with whom he shared 23 wonderful years, and a close-knit family that includes brothers Chris, Curt, and Jeff McIntosh of Middletown, Ohio, as well as sisters Cheryl Enyart of Colorado and Diane Tarr, along with her husband Chris, of Columbus, Ohio. The bond of love extended further with the presence of eleven cherished nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Hal.
Hal's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, made all the more poignant by the absence of an extraordinary man whose kindness and compassion touched so many. Surrounded by loved ones as he departed this life, he left behind a legacy of love that will endure, echoing in the hearts of those who knew him. His spirit will continue to be felt in every grilled steak and laughing conversation shared among family, forever reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived.
