Iris Mae Marie Gonzalez

It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt tenderness that we announce the passing of Iris Mae Marie Gonzalez, a precious soul whose brief journey on this earth touched countless lives in just 87 days. Born on February 4, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Iris Mae brought immeasurable joy and love to her family and all who had the blessing to know her.

Iris Mae departed this life on May 2, 2026, at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Surrounded by the loving presence of her family, she gently slipped into the arms of Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of love, hope, and faith. Though her time was short, the impact of her spirit endures, and her memory shines brightly as a testament to the love she inspired.

She is survived by her devoted father, Antonio Gonzalez of New Albany, Indiana, and her cherished mother, Takeasha Gellhouse of Seymour, Indiana. Iris Mae also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Aeson Schrink of Taylorsville, Indiana, Annick Sage and Lillyanna Gellhouse, both of Seymour, Indiana. Her family circle of love extends to dear aunts and uncles—Steven Gellhouse and his wife Autumn of Seymour, Indiana, along with Addison Gellhouse and Keeley Gellhouse—as well as her maternal grandparents, Angela Goen and Brian Gellhouse, and her paternal grandmother, Carmen Salcedo.

Throughout her time with us, Iris Mae was deeply loved and held a special place in the hearts of many. Her family finds solace in the comforting belief that she is now reunited with her beloved family members beyond this world, resting peacefully in the embrace of Jesus.

A visitation will be held on May 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. All gatherings will take place at the Christensen Family Funeral Home, located at 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour, Indiana 47274. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Iris Mae are invited to join in honoring her memory and celebrating the brief but radiant life she led.

Though the pain of loss is profound, may the love and memories of Iris Mae Marie Gonzalez forever comfort those who grieve, and may her spirit continue to inspire and uplift with its quiet strength and boundless grace.
