James Alfred Hyland

James Alfred Hyland, age 58, a native of Wilmington, Ohio and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2026 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. He was born on November 29, 1967 to James and Joyce (McQuitty) Hyland of Seymour, Indiana. He was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed boating and especially fishing with his father. He was very good with making crafts. He will forever be remembered as a simple man with a very big heart that would help anyone that needed him.

He is survived by his parents, one son, James Hyland and three daughters, Shania Hyland, Hannah Hyland and Shelby Hyland. One sister, Linda Chancellor. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hyland.

In keeping with his wishes the family has chosen cremation.

Daniel and Betsy Christensen have been entrusted with the arrangements.
