Janet Howard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Howard (Terry) who passed away on 6/30/26 at the age of 81. Born on 8/15/1944 in Seymour, Indiana. Janet lived a life marked by faith, love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. Throughout her life, she touched countless hearts with her generosity, compassion, and unwavering strength. She was a 1963 graduate of Seymour High School and a member of First Baptist Church for over 20 years.

Janet was devoted to her family and found great joy in spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed watching her Cincinnati Reds as well as playing euchre and bingo. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill. For the past few years, his unwavering dedication, compassion, and selfless care were a true reflection of the love they shared throughout their 62 years of marriage. His faithful presence by her side brought her comfort and dignity, and their enduring bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. She is also survived by her sons, Darrell (Shana), and Kevin; her four grandchildren, Kelsey (Anthony) Kirby, Kiefer (Bobbi) Howard, Kyle Howard, and Alexis Howard; as well as her four great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure her love, guidance, and the example of faith she set for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Doris Terry; her sister, Betty Ault; and her brother, Rusty Terry.

Above all, Janet's life was rooted in her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She trusted Him through every season of life and found strength, peace, and hope in His promises. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived each day through her love, compassion, and service to others. While her family grieves her absence, they do not grieve without hope. They are comforted by the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, healed and made whole, experiencing the joy of eternal life in heaven. Her steadfast faith leaves a lasting legacy and serves as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 7, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Seymour Chapel with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Seymour, Indiana.
