John Meagher

John Michael Meagher, age 78, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family. He born on April 19, 1948 to the late John Meagher Sr., and the late Lois (Hellman) Meagher. He was a Catholic by faith and served his country proudly in the United Sates Army.

Joh will forever be remembered as a wonderful family man that was always smiling and an excellent provider for his family. He was reliable, honorable, patriotic loved his Country dearly. He was also very talented with woodworking. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor (Henderson) Meagher, one son, John Michael Moore and his wife Erin of Indianapolis, Indiana and one daughter, Carrie Elliott of Sellersburg, Indiana. Two brothers, Jim Meagher and his wife Eva of Sellersburg, Indiana and Paul Meagher and his wife Teri of Prospect, Kentucky. Three grandchildren, Tyler Meagher, Shelby Spalding and Amy Meagher. One great grandchild, Trenton Coffman.

He was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Cumbee.

Services will be private and he will be laid to rest at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

Daniel and Betsy Christensen have been entrusted with the arrangements.
