Jonathan "JB" Brewer

March 21, 1951 — February 1, 2026

Seymour

JB Brewer, a soul as rich in love as it was honest and trustworthy, left this world on February 1, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of his beloved family in the comfort of his residence. Born on March 21, 1951, in Seymour, Indiana, Jonathan spent his life embodying the values of loyalty, acceptance, and profound love, a testament to the remarkable character he brought to each relationship he fostered.

JB served his country proudly in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, instilling a sense of duty and courage that would resonate through the lives he touched. He was a man who understood both the weight of commitment and the joy of devotion, not only to his country but also to his cherished family. His legacy continues to flourish in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

To his son, Jason Stout of Heltonville, Indiana, and daughters Wanda Bennett of Indianapolis, Indiana, Laurie Brewer of Seymour, Indiana, and Katie Barker and her husband David Kirkham of Seymour, he was a pillar of strength, guiding them with his unwavering love and honesty. Jonathan's influence shaped the lives of his thirteen grandchildren, Kayla, Steven, Rex, Norton, Karma, Raven, Abby, Zane, Jaylynn, Rylan, Taleigha, Navaeh, and Jeremiah. He took boundless joy in the simple pleasure of their company, often found delighting in their laughter and sharing moments that would be cherished forever. The glow of his five great-grandchildren, Tesla, Briar, Brayleigh, Kameron, and Kaiden, only served to brighten his days, illustrating the infinite love he poured into his family tree.

His days were often colored by his passions; a HUGE Indianapolis Colts fan, JB's heart raced along with every play on the field, creating spirited discussions and cherished memories around the television screen. Music, in all its forms, was a soundtrack to his life—he thrived on the energy of concerts, the pulse of melodies winding their way through his spirit, fostering connections and igniting his soul. Whether it was mushroom hunting in the woods or simply basking in the embrace of his grandchildren, JB found beauty in the simple joys, teaching those around him the significance of appreciation and presence.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Jan Gerth of Florida, Dana Brewer of Florida, and Teresa Nicholson of Seymour, Indiana, with whom he shared countless memories and bonds of strength, reminding us all of the importance of sibling ties.

JB has now reunited with those who departed from this earthly realm, including his father, Stanley Brewer, and mother, Betty Peters Housier, along with his beloved wife of 44 years, Donna Stout Brewer. Their spirits meld with his in a symphony of eternal love. He now watches over them, alongside his dear granddaughter, Alexis Baughman, whose memory remains etched in the hearts of her family.

As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember not just a man who lived honestly and loved fiercely, but a legacy that will echo through generations—a reminder to cherish moments, to love deeply, and to hold tight to family, no matter where life may lead. JB Brewer, you will be missed, but your spirit will forever dance in the laughter of your children and grandchildren, through the melodies of your beloved music, and within the heart of every person blessed to have known you.
