Seymour

Kevin Lee Tormoehlen, age 60, born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 9, 1965, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at Ascension - St. Vincent Hospital. His life was a vibrant tapestry woven with dedication, warmth, and an infectious zest for the simple joys of living.

A master concrete finisher by trade, Kevin took immense pride in his work, standing as the best among his peers. The artistry and precision he brought to every project reflected not only his strong will but also a deep commitment to craftsmanship that earned him the respect and admiration of many. Yet, it was not only his skill but the spirit with which he approached life that defined him.

Kevin was a man of boundless generosity and a fun-loving sense of humor that could brighten any room. Outgoing and kind-hearted, he embraced each encounter as an opportunity to connect—with no stranger ever remaining just a stranger. His carefree nature, combined with an unwavering work ethic, made him a steadfast friend and a pillar to those who knew him.

He found great joy in nature—fishing serene waters and camping under open skies, finding solace and adventure in the wilderness. Around the grill, he was nothing short of a virtuoso, especially known for his tender pork loin and the green bean casserole that became a legend among family gatherings. These moments of feeding loved ones were extensions of his care and devotion.

Kevin’s roots in faith were grounded in his affiliation with St. Ambrose Catholic Church, where he also received his schooling. This spiritual home shaped much of his character and anchored his generous soul.

Family was Kevin’s greatest treasure. He is survived by his wife, Twana Waggoner Tormoehlen. His children—Amber Fugate and her husband Corey of Seymour, Indiana; Lydia Piatt of Seymour; Shelby Piatt and her husband Codey Stewart of Whiteland, Indiana; Joplynn Walker of Seymour; Camron Smith of Seymour; and Derick Pendleton and his wife Christi of Seymour, also his biological mother, Mary Coin of Sellersburg, Indiana stand as living testaments to his love and legacy. The laughter and light he brought into life echoed through nine grandchildren: Kadence Piatt, Landon Fugate, Calleigh Fugate, Aubree Hankins, Wrenley Stewart, Salem Stewart, Mekenzie Pendleton, Brody Pendleton, and Khloey Pendleton, each carrying a spark of his spirit forward.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Tormoehlen, and his mother, Doris Maschino Tormoehlen, whose memories live on in the stories and love shared by their family.

Kevin’s life will be honored on Friday, June 12, 2026, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 6:00 p.m., both held at Christensen Family Funeral Home, nestled at 311 Holiday Square Road in Seymour, Indiana.
