Roger Lewis Taylor

Roger Lewis Taylor, 88, passed away at home on November 26, 2025 under the care of St Croix Hospice after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Roger bore this burden with great strength, humility, and humor. He was accompanied on this journey by his three loving daughters: Sandra Owens, Sheila Vaughn, Sheri Ness and his soulmate, Barbara Grant. Roger is survived by his sister Doreen Keilman, brother Randal Taylor, his three daughters and their spouses: Dennis Owens, Keith Vaughn, and Andrew Ness, grandchildren Taylor Owens, Lexi Cowan, Dustin Owens, Derek Owens, Michael Vaughn, Erika Vaughn, Nathan Vaughn, Addison Vaughn, Mallory Burton, Andrea Ness, and great grandson Clayton Burton. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Viola Taylor, brothers Eugene and William Taylor, and brother in law/hunting partner extrodinaire Roland Keilman. Roger retired after a long career as a State Farm Insurance agent. True to form, Roger was always “A Good Neighbor”. Roger was also preceded in death by his two good neighbor accomplices Calvin Covert and Joseph Medisch. These three accomplished friends spent many weekends rolling up to a neighbor’s house in their rusty golf cart, with tools in tow. They enjoyed helping and replaced everything from hot water heaters to front doors for the price of a case of beer and lunch. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the wonderful caregivers who have loved Dad through this journey… Elaine Heiden, Nickie Weddle, Camille Gill, Vanessa McKillip as well as Rogers grandchildren. Special Thanks to lifelong friends Jim and Jeanette Shaw. The harder this road became...The more love and kindness was given.
