It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Troy Ernest Nolan, age 79. Troy was born on May 20, 1946 in Clay County, Kentucky to Elvin Cooper Nolan and Sarah Alice Gray Nolan. He lived a life filled with music, family, laughter and a deep appreciation for the simple things that brough joy.
He worked as a manager at Seymour Electronics before retiring from Schwartz Pharma. Music was one of Troy's greatest passions. He played bass guitar in the Jackson 5 Band with his brother Tony and later with the Little Creek Band. A devoted fan of Chet Atkins, Troy's love for music stayed with him through his entire life.
Troy enjoyed working on cars and computers and took great pride in restoring his 1962 Chevy. He especially enjoyed taking his truck to car shows where he enjoyed visiting with fellow car enthusiasts. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Maggie, Sam and Charlie.
Troy is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Sharon Berry Nolan, whose partnership was a cornerstone of his life. He is also survived by his children: Doug Bledsoe of Cortland, Indiana; Mark Bledsoe and his wife Lori of Salem, Indiana; Tommy Bledsoe and his wife Barb of Seymour, Indiana; Cathy Dugger of Bedford, Indiana; Tracy Jordan of Seymour, Indiana; Cindy Edwards of Florida; and Tonya Wolfe of North Vernon, Indiana and a sister in law, Macusha Nolan. Troy’s legacy is further carried on by his 16 grandchildren, as well as numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with love and guidance.
