William Stewart Holder age 63, a resident of New Market/Marysville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, peacefully in his dream home, surrounded by the family he cherished. Born into a farming family, William spent his early years working with cattle, pigs, and sowing fields. Though he once envisioned a future in farming, life led him down a different, yet equally fulfilling, path.
William was passionate about many things, mostly Honda motorcycles. He began at an early age riding and repairing dirt bikes. He and his friends would spend countless hours riding the fields and woods in New Market. His love for motorcycles soon became his lifelong career. He began working for S&S Honda and, through dedication and expertise, rose to become part owner/general manager of what became S&S Powersports. His role at S&S allowed him to travel to many countries and see many sites, but he would always love to come home to his piece of the world.
After selling his part of the company some 25 yrs later, he enjoyed some time off building his dream home. He loved working with his hands, whether it was building a treehouse with his son, laying floors in his home, or building a deck, he found joy in bringing his visions to life. After completing his house, he returned to work as a road rep, traveling to, of all places, motorcycle shops. He could not get far from his love of motorcycles. All the while he continued to restore some vintage bikes. He was known for his knowledge of Honda motorcycles, and on many occasions would receive calls for advice and assistance.
William’s other passion was plants. He delighted in bringing home exotic plants from other regions and keeping these alive just to prove it could be done. His home was always filled with huge plants. He would happily share pictures of his fruit trees growing in the great room. Much to his wife’s playful protest, his plants lived and thrived inside in winter season.
Along with his love for motorcycles, was his family (okay, that is not the order, most of the time….. ). He enjoyed teaching his children/grandchildren how to be strong, independent individuals. He always requested them to help with the garden, chop wood, as well as many other tasks but always at the end, get on that bike and ride! His woods always had the sound of dirt bikes. Starting with the small ones at an early age, he loved watching them grow in their riding skills as well as become well rounded adults.
William will be missed by many friends and a loving family.
